Silverfort & USO: Goodbye, Identity Silos

We are excited to welcome Silverfort to the USO partner network—and to add an identity security platform that takes every dimension of identity into account.

There are few areas that evolve as quickly as identity security. One thing is clear: yesterday’s solutions no longer provide companies with adequate protection. And even tools that appear modern can quickly reveal their limits—especially when they fail to account for all dimensions of identity.

IAM solutions from the past

Many companies still treat Identity and Access Management (IAM) as something of an afterthought. At best, they rely on isolated point solutions that create only an incomplete wall around the organization—one with both small and large gaps in access control. The logical conclusion: risks may be reduced, but a successful attack remains very much possible. And when high costs and lengthy implementation efforts are added to the mix, siloed IAM tools quickly lose their appeal.

With the right integration and the right level of visibility, however, efforts to fully protect identities do not have to be in vain—they can turn into a real success story.

IAM for the here and now

What matters most? At its core, identity security needs to be approached holistically, support existing systems, and remain intuitive to use. All of this is delivered by the platform of our new partner, Silverfort. Where isolated solutions once dominated, an all-in-one tool now steps in—one that looks far beyond the usual boundaries.

Because identity protection does not stop with identities themselves. That may sound confusing at first, but it makes perfect sense on closer inspection. Identities—whether human, non-human (NHIs), or AI agents—do not exist in a vacuum. They are embedded in specific environments. That may include a local on-premises AD infrastructure, a Microsoft Entra-based cloud IAM solution, hybrid applications running across AWS and GCP, and much more. At the same time, more and more NHIs are accessing resources across multiple environments. Legacy systems on iSeries/AS400, command-line tools, modern cloud workloads, and SaaS applications are just a few examples.

About Silverfort

Silverfort offers a platform for end-to-end identity security that protects every identity—whether in the cloud or on premises, whether human, machine, or anything in between. Its patented Runtime Access Protection (RAP) technology integrates into existing IAM infrastructures, gives organizations complete visibility across all identities, analyzes access in real time, and extends protection even to resources that have traditionally been difficult to secure—such as non-human identities (NHIs), legacy systems, command-line tools, and IT/OT environments. The solution can be implemented without major disruption to business operations and helps organizations improve security while reducing administrative overhead. Silverfort is used by more than 1,000 organizations, including Fortune 50 companies.

What makes Silverfort stand out

We love superlatives—and that is exactly why we love Silverfort. This solution is not just another component in the security stack; it stands in a category of its own. The reason lies in its technical foundation: Runtime Access Protection (RAP). Whenever a user or service wants to access a resource, the request is not executed directly. Instead, it is first routed through the existing IAM system to Silverfort. There, a dynamic risk assessment takes place, taking context, user behavior, and environment into account. Only if no anomalies are detected is approval sent back. If something looks suspicious, a custom-defined security action is triggered instead. Static RBAC—role-based access control built on fixed roles? That is yesterday’s model.

What this means in practice is simple: the decision to allow or deny access is made intelligently, transparently, and within seconds. IT teams gain the ability to define security policies flexibly without having to redesign their existing systems. The key difference lies in the combination of real-time control, seamless integration, and adaptive protection—a powerful mix that makes Silverfort the ideal complement to traditional IAM structures.

“Thanks to our Runtime Access Protection technology (RAP), every dimension of identity is protected from within. The seamless integration into existing IAM infrastructures makes the experience straightforward from the very first touchpoint. System changes and user disruption are a thing of the past. Together with the USO team, we leave attackers with no opportunity.”

Ready. Steady. Protection!

Maximum security with minimal effort—that is something we value highly at USO. In the pressure of day-to-day business, there is simply no room for additional complexity. That is why we were immediately drawn to Silverfort’s platform, which delivers transparency and security in real time—without tying up IT resources in long integration projects.

Here is to another strong solution in our portfolio.
